The direct .tr extension gives you a shorter address: example.tr instead of example.com.tr. Like .com.tr, it is managed by TRABİS and follows the same renewal rules.
When .tr allocations opened, priority went first to public institutions, then to holders of names under extensions such as .com.tr and .net.tr, so they could claim the .tr version of their own name. When does an expired .tr domain become available?
A .tr domain that is not renewed stops working when it expires. For the first 60 days, you can renew it through your registrar at the regular price. If it is not renewed, it enters a 30-day deletion period during which it cannot be renewed. The domain is deleted 90 days after expiry and becomes open for registration again.
